Sheep

While on the Camera 35 trip to St. Mary’s, we stopped in Branch to see the sheep, horses, and some of us saw some interesting birds....

As a break from the birds, here’s a landscape of Point Lance Beach, near St. Bride’s, NL....

Yellow Warbler

Published at June 30, 2011

This little guy was circling us for a good twenty minutes at Ship Cove, on the way back from St. Mary’s. It must have been something to see, no less than six of us lined off on the side of the road with our longest lenses, all trying to shoot this little bird (and it’s friend). He didn’t stay in one spot for very long, so I captures a number of frames with no bird as well....

Gannet Landing

This will be the first of several photos from the Camera 35 trip to St. Mary’s. We had a good time, and it’s going to take some time to get everything processed to my satisfaction....

Callanish Standing Stones

Published at June 21, 2011

I saw a B&W photo of these stones over on 500px.com the other day and it occurred to me that while I was never really happy with how my photos there turned out, I never tried them in B&W. Freshwater Bay

Published at June 5, 2011

Jen, Chris, and myself took a hike down to Freshwater Bay yesterday afternoon. It ended up being a really nice day; which, unfortunately, meant the light wasn’t great for photos. But we made the best of it and I managed to get a couple of shots worth processing....

Henry's Photowalk

Published at April 11, 2011

This past weekend, Henry’s put off a photowalk through the downtown area of St. John’s, which a number of people I know participated in. I wasn’t very motivated or inspired by my surroundings (I don’t care much for downtown St. John’s), so I figured I’d give my IR-converted camera a shot and just get something different. I made most of these a B&W treatment that’s more like a traditional IR image, instead of false colour that you often see these days....

Icy Duck

Published at April 1, 2011

This is a shot I took for the Camera 35 ‘Winter Wonderland’ theme. I wasn’t originally going to bother to post it anywhere, because I thought I could have done better, but just didn’t have the time or motivation at the time. Well, the results came back for the competition last night and it took second place–so the judges must have liked it. Given the results, I figured that I’d toss it up here for the flickr community to see....
